"Organised Crime" – Peter Obi Talks About Tinubu's Government Removing The Fuel Subsidy

Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, has stated that his support for the elimination of petroleum product subsidies is genuine, but subject to a condition that should be evident to the people.

Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, has stated that his support for the elimination of petroleum product subsidies is genuine, but subject to a condition that must be demonstrable to the public.

The LP presidential candidate stated that his support for subsidy elimination dates back to his time as a member of the Presidential Economic Management Team during the Goodluck Jonathan administration.

Obi said: “If you have followed me very well right from the time I was a member of Jonathan’s economic management team, I consistently maintained that subsidy should be removed because I see it as organized crime.

“People were just stealing the country’s resources, and I showed empirically in my statistical analysis that we are not consuming the amount of fuel they claim we consume.”
