According to reports, Ayedatiwa is prepared to challenge Akeredolu in this matter.
An insider in Akure, the state capital, told Vanguard that Akeredolu is aware of his deputy's alleged plans to assume power and his perceived excessive ambition.
The source stated, "The trouble began when Governor Akeredolu left on vacation and delegated the duties of the governor's office to the deputy governor.
During his brief tenure as acting governor, the lieutenant governor allegedly placed his own interests ahead of those of the state and the governor.
Some members of the Executive Council asserted that the lieutenant governor was responsible for the dissemination of health-related rumors.
"The lieutenant governor is the source of all these rumors. In reality, the governor decided to take a break after the Cabinet meeting and subsequent courtesy visits three weeks ago.

"In all honesty, Aketi is a workaholic. Frequently, we must be the ones to insist that he take a break. Three weeks after his laborious work, he was resting at the government residence in Akure. However, he was repeatedly disturbed by others at his residence.
Then, on the previous Sunday, he left Akure for Ibadan in search of much-needed leisure. The governor has been advised to spend time recuperating on purpose. Therefore, the vice-governor traveled to Ibadan to pay him a visit, bringing documents with him.
