Exclusive: Arsenal get a boost from a prospective Liverpool raid.

Unless there is a "seismic" development concerning the development of someone like Mohamed Salah, Liverpool are unlikely to be in the running for the signing of Arsenal star Bukayo Saka.

This is the point of view of Andy Hunter of the Guardian, who will be featured in a future edition of CaughtOffside TV, which will be available on YouTube later today.
Salah's current Liverpool contract is set to expire in 2023, and the club's supporters will no doubt be desperate to see the Egypt international sign a new term.
The Liverpool manager, Gareth Hunter, is certain that the club can achieve their goals if they pay their top player what he is worth.

As a result, despite reports suggesting that Saka is a potential Liverpool transfer target, Hunter downplayed the reports and explained why he does not believe Salah will follow in the footsteps of someone like Luis Suarez and seek for a move away from Anfield for something more significant.

"With Mo Salah, who knows what's going to happen. For the time being, Hunter believes, "that's the key to a lot of things."
If something seismic like Salah's departure occurs, the only way I can see anything like Saka occurring is as a result of this. But I don't see it, and I don't understand it.

I don't see Salah as having a clear career path like Suarez had in the past.
"I don't think that's the case with Salah. It comes down to a simple question of 'pay me what I'm worth and I'll stay.'

Salah has established himself as one of the top players in the world in recent years, but it's likely that Liverpool fans would welcome a very exciting young prospect like Saka as a long-term alternative for the Egyptian..
For the time being, though, Arsenal supporters may be able to breathe a sigh of relief knowing that the in-form 20-year-old will be retained.
