With rumors of a drastically altered design, the absence of a notch, and considerable camera enhancements, among other improvements, there is much to be excited about. In fact, if every rumor turns out to be true, the iPhone 14 Pro Max could be Apple's most exciting upgrade in years.
We'll go through everything we know so far about this phone, including its release date and pricing, in the following paragraphs. This article will also be updated once new information becomes available, so check back soon to keep informed about Pro Max.
iPhone 14 Pro Max price and release date
The 13th of September is the most likely release date for the iPhone 14 Pro Max and the rest of the iPhone 14 lineup. We have not arbitrarily chosen this date; rather, a leaker has clearly indicated it.
No other exact dates have been predicted, so this information should be taken with a grain of salt. However, the 13th of September makes a lot of sense, given Apple has traditionally released new iPhones in the middle of September, and usually on a Tuesday, which September 13 is.
You won't be able to get the phone at that time, though. It will probably ship about 10 days later, on Friday, September 23.
There's a chance those dates are off, even though production in China has reportedly been delayed by a few weeks due to lockdowns. Apple, on the other hand, is said to be working to get back on track.
According to one report, the iPhone 14 Pro Max will have a starting price of roughly $1,099 / £1,049 / AU$1,849, which is comparable to the iPhone 13 range.
However, according to a different source, the price of the forthcoming phone would begin at $1,199 (about £955 or AU$1,665), which is an increase of $100 (approximately £80 or AU140) in comparison to the iPhone 13 Pro Max. This phone's predicted number of upgrades makes a price increase plausible.
A new look for the iPhone 14 Pro Max
If Apple removes the notch off the iPhone 14 Pro Max, it will appear very different than any previous model. Several people have told us this, the earliest of which dates back to September and includes the rendering.
Like many Android phones, it appears the notch will be replaced by a small camera cutout in this design. To do this, the phone appears to have been made a little thicker in order to make room for the camera.
According to the source, the frame is composed of titanium instead of stainless steel, which we've heard before.
The first person to say that the iPhone 14 Pro Max won't have a notch was Jon Prosser. Since then, other well-known leakers like Ming-Chi Kuo and Mark Gurman have said the same thing.
A number of sources now say there will be two cutouts for the iPhone 14 Pro Max's cameras — one little punch-hole and one larger pill-shaped one next to it. However, the renders above suddenly sound like they might be incorrect. In a leaked schematic and in leaked CAD (computer-aided design) images, you can see how this would look.
However, according to a leaked schematic, the iPhone 13 Pro Max's rear camera block is actually larger than on the iPhone 13 Pro - not smaller, as the initial leak above said.
iPhone 14 Pro Max screen
A leaker with an excellent track record, Ross Young, says the iPhone 14 Pro Max would have a 6.68-inch 1284 x 2778 OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and 458 pixels per inch, which sounds like a significant upgrade. If it had those specifications, it would have the same display as the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
According to Ming-Chi Kuo, the future phone will have a screen of 6.9 inches, and we wouldn't anticipate Apple to adjust the size, as that isn't something the company does very often. "
It is likely that certain display characteristics, such as the brightness, will be modified in the future, but so far it sounds very much like the screen on the iPhone 13 Pro Max. As long as there's no notch protruding from the top this time around.
The camera on the iPhone 14 Pro Max is rather good.
The iPhone 14 Pro Max's camera is expected to receive a significant improvement, with a 48MP primary sensor replacing the predecessor's 12MP sensor. One of the most reputable analysts in the industry, Ming-Chi Kuo, has stated this, but another expert has now echoed this allegation.
There are rumors that this camera will be joined by two others and be able to record 8K video (up from the iPhone 13 Pro Max's 4K). A 12MP ultrawide camera and a 12MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom are the only two we've heard about so far.
According to reports, Apple is planning to release the iPhone 15 series next year, which is expected to include a 5x optical zoom periscope camera.

A look at the iPhone 14 Pro Max's features and specs
Considering the current model's A15 Bionic CPU, it's not surprising that the iPhone 14 Pro Max will use the same chipset as the current iPhone 14.
It's unclear how much of a step up this new chipset will be. The most recent leak suggests that the A15 Bionic will be manufactured on a 5nm process, rather than the 4nm or 3nm processes that were previously reported.
Slight improvements in power and/or efficiency are more likely with lower numbers, but even at 5nm, it's safe to say that things will get better.
Depending on who you ask, the RAM may either remain at 6GB or increase to 8GB. However, we've heard the 6GB claim multiple times, so that's more likely at this point.
However, it is possible that storage will see a significant increase, reaching a whopping 2TB. That's twice as much storage as the iPhone 13 Pro's maximum capacity.
Using an eSIM instead of a real SIM is also an option, but this is much less likely than the first. Since not all mobile networks allow eSIMs at present time, future iPhone 14 Pro Max models are likely to have traditional SIM card slots as well, if Apple decides to make the switch.
a 14-watt-hour battery for the iPhone 14 Professional
However, it's unknown how much more powerful the iPhone 14 Pro Max's battery would be compared to its predecessor. The iPhone 13 Pro Max already has exceptional battery life, so this is a promising claim.
Lightning to USB-C has been mentioned as a possible alternative in the domain of improbable features. Since the EU has made it a necessity starting in 2024, this is likely to happen someday, although we doubt it will be included in the iPhone 14 line of models.
In the future, there's been discussion of a wireless-charging-only iPhone, but it doesn't appear that Apple will go that far with the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
