Kevin De Bruyne demonstrated that he is a true blue by making a humorous video in which he threatened to set fire to a Manchester United shirt.
The star player for Manchester City has already been responsible for more than a few sleepless nights at Old Trafford, and he has now gone out of his way to prevent United from even having a chance to dream. After having just spent the previous weekend publicly shaming their neighbors, De Bruyne demonstrated that there is no compassion for the people who live in the red half of the city.
During his appearance on the Belgian podcast Mid Mid, the star player for City was presented with the opportunity to have his name and number printed on the back of a United jersey. After making a funny face, De Bruyne asked, "Can I burn it now?" and stated that "most dreams aren't real." Although the host can be heard saying "it's a dream," this theory was quickly debunked.
However, despite the fact that he quickly got rid of that shirt, he has recently acquired a shirt from one of City's rivals after he was successful in stealing Cristiano Ronaldo's shirt the week before. In the 6-3 victory that De Brutyne and his teammates earned at The Etihad Stadium, Ronaldo did not get on the field and was not used as a substitute.
Even though Erik ten Hag did not believe it necessary to include the 37-year-old, his opponents still clearly rated him, as evidenced by the fact that De Bruyne made a beeline towards him after the full-time whistle had blown, as reported by the Mail.
The Belgian was reportedly seen beaming with delight at his most recent piece of sports memorabilia while wearing the legendary No. 7 jersey. The resounding nature of their victory over the Red Devils is most likely what put a smile on his face, despite the fact that he was ecstatic to receive Ronaldo's shirt.
They earned the right to boast after Phil Foden and Erling Haaland each scored a hat-trick for them, and De Bruyne suggested that the scoreline didn't accurately reflect the magnitude of the gulf that existed between the two teams.
"We set up quite good," said De Bruyne. We were able to capitalize on the opportunities presented to us in the first half of the game and play very well. I have the impression that we have performed exceptionally well whenever we have played at United away from home, whereas when we have played at United at our own stadium, they have been more successful than we have been. They had figured out a strategy that allowed them to win some games.
"However, we played much better here. They scored two goals in the final minute, which is unfortunate because I believe that the score of 6-1 was fully deserved."
After scoring a hat-trick in the Premier League for the third consecutive game at The Etihad Stadium, it is only natural that Haaland garnered the majority of the headlines. But the Norwegian was quick to praise De Bruyne after the Belgian set up two goals, bringing his total number of assists for the season to ten (out of 11 total games played).
Erling Haaland and Kevin de Bruyne worked together to create mayhem for Manchester United the previous weekend.
"Yeah, it's amazing. In reference to his partnership with the midfielder, he remarked that "the passes are insane" and "we find each other." "Despite the fact that I've only been at the club for a few short months, the camaraderie already seems very natural. This might be the most exciting part.
"It's only natural that I run away, and then he catches up with me. There is nothing better than when this feels like second nature. It is wonderful, and it truly is something to behold, but we must not lose sight of the fact that there are others.
"Kevin is one player, but I could stand there all day and talk about everybody else other than him." It is not only him; rather, there are a great number of other people as well as other incredible passes."
