Ferdinand has communicated his thoughts in a direct manner to his former teammate from Man United.
After excerpts from Rio Ferdinand's interview with Piers Morgan were made public on Sunday, Cristiano Ronaldo was informed by Rio Ferdinand that his "love affair" with Manchester United has come to an end in an official capacity.
In a bombshell conversation with the host of Talk TV, Ronaldo stated that he has "no respect" for Erik ten Hag because the United coach has "no respect" for Erik ten Hag. Ronaldo made this claim during the interview. The 37-year-old went on to criticize the selection of Ralf Rangnick as head coach during the previous campaign as well as Wayne Rooney, who has criticized Ronaldo for his behavior while playing for the club. Rooney, according to Ronaldo, was likely motivated by professional jealousy when he made those comments because the Portuguese forward is still playing at a high level. Ronaldo made this assertion. During an appearance on Vibe with Five, Rio Ferdinand discussed the interview and what the future holds for his former teammate at Old Trafford. He stated that it appears Ronaldo's position at the club is no longer viable.
The former central defender started his explanation by saying that "if Man United are trying to cling onto anything from the era before, that is one of the things that they will lean on." "As I've mentioned before, I played with players like [Ruud] Van Nistelrooy, [Roy] Keane, [David] Beckham, and Jaap Stam, all of whom were kicked out of the football club because the manager claimed they were players who thought they were bigger than the football club at the time, for a variety of reasons. Every one of those reasons was a reason that we haven't seen up to this point.
"Wazza has made some public statements about him, and he absolutely has every right to do so. In light of the fact that Cristiano has insulted them by mentioning them in his interview, it is natural for friends to prefer that such matters be resolved in private. "Because of the current state of affairs, I seriously doubt that they will send Christmas cards to one another this year. Another list will include Wazza, and there are custard pies everywhere.
"It's been brought to my attention, Cristiano Ronaldo, that our relationship is officially over. The fling with Manchester United is over, the chapter has been written, and I don't see him ever playing for another team again.
"One thing that happens, and Cristiano is well aware of it, is that if you insult the manager who is building the project, there is no way back. Therefore, he has snookered the club and put them into a position where there's no way back whether anyone wanted to keep Cristiano, they can't now after what he's said.
"If that interview was only two minutes long and not however long the interview is, and he said that comment there that he doesn't respect the manager regardless of anything else that was said, then that will be the reason he goes," the person said. "That will be the reason he goes." Even though some of the interview has already been made public, Talk TV will air the entirety of the discussion that took place between Ronaldo and Morgan in two parts on Wednesday and Thursday at 8 o'clock each night.
