Ado-Ekiti—The National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NCCSALW) has condemned the spread of illegal small arms and light weapons in the nation.
Ben Sola Akinlade, South-West Zonal Coordinator of the Centre, stated at a press briefing in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday that the Centre has observed an increase in the activities of unauthorised organizations that have assumed control of illicit arms.
He stated that the NCCSALW is the only recognized government organization with the authority to eliminate such munitions and armaments from the country.
While warning Nigerians to be wary of these illegal organizations that are defrauding naive youths, he warned that any violation of the Centre's responsibilities will result in legal action.
