Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has reportedly been "insulted" by a £20m bid from West Ham United.
The Hammers are said to be interested in signing Maguire, who has struggled for form at Old Trafford this season. However, the 29-year-old is said to be furious at the valuation of his services.
According to The Sun, Maguire believes that he is worth much more than £20m, and that the bid is an insult to his reputation. The report also claims that Maguire is determined to stay at Manchester United and fight for his place in the team.
Maguire's agent, David Moyes, has also dismissed the bid, calling it "derisory". Moyes said that Maguire is "one of the best centre-backs in the world" and that he is "not for sale".
It remains to be seen whether West Ham will return with a higher offer for Maguire. However, the defender's reaction to the initial bid suggests that he is unlikely to be interested in a move to the London Stadium.

Maguire has been a regular for Manchester United since joining the club from Leicester City in 2019. However, he has come under fire for his performances this season. He has been accused of being slow, clumsy, and mistake-prone.
Despite his critics, Maguire remains a key player for Manchester United. He is the club captain and is seen as a leader on the pitch. However, his future at Old Trafford could be in doubt if he continues to struggle for form.
The report is attributed to Claret Hugh, who claim that an insider at Carrington revealed Maguire's sentiments regarding the bid.
“It’s not just United who think West Ham’s current offer is low-ball,” another insider added. “Harry sees other players moving for far bigger sums, without half his experience and pedigree.
“He knows United want him out and may be bluffing over his price, but even Harry thinks he is worth more than £20m – especially to someone like David Moyes who needs a centre-half in quickly and knows he is road-tested in the Premier League.”
Manchester United spent £80 million on Maguire in 2019, and he has had a difficult time at the club despite being named captain in January 2020.
It is reasonable to say that his value has diminished somewhat, but United are believed to be seeking around £35 million for the player.
Uncertain if West Ham will fork over the funds, he has endeared himself to no one in East London by claiming he was "insulted" by the offer.
United's Erik ten Hag is in need of funds to bolster his roster ahead of the upcoming season, which begins in ten days against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

35 million pounds would go a long way toward bringing in new recruits more suited to the Dutchman's methods, and it is believed that several such candidates have already been identified.
Man United may have recently acquired Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta for £72 million, but Ten Hag would also like to strengthen his midfield.
Prior to the signing of a new center back to replace Maguire, Sofyan Amrabat is likely to be pursued if the funds can be generated.
Obviously, this is contingent on his departure. Should West Ham resubmit an offer, they may need to be extremely cautious not to "insult" him again.
