Heung-min Manchester United and other top-four rivals have been warned by Tottenham forward Son Heung-min, who declared himself "free of any worries" after his team's 3-1 win over rivals West Ham.
United have only one final goal this season, and that is to finish fourth in the Premier League and qualify for the Champions League. Arsenal, on the other hand, are in pole position for a top-four finish, while Son also spurred Tottenham to a crucial three points against West Ham on Sunday afternoon.
With the win, the north Londoners moved ahead of Manchester United in the Premier League standings heading into the fortnight-long international break between matches. Despite having played one fewer game than the other top-four candidates, Arsenal are three points clear of Tottenham and four points clear of Manchester United.
Before the international break, each of the north London teams won their final game. Following an own goal by West Ham defender Kurt Zouma, Son proved to be the difference in a tightly contested London derby, scoring twice in a 3-1 triumph. Son is the first South Korean player to score in the Premier League this season.
"We usually talk about this circumstance, and bounce back is always so essential for your confidence and your rhythm as well," the beloved Tottenham match-winner explained in a post-match interview with Sky Sports. We had been waiting a long time for this [two consecutive victories], and we were victorious against Brighton.
"This is something I've said before. Being victorious in a game before the international break is always preferable. The ability to depart with a clear conscience is really crucial. As soon as we return from our international break, we'll be ready to go."
