Napoli could use this summer’s transfer window to sell striker Victor Osimhen.

Those are the assertions of a recent article from Fichajes, who claims that the Serie A club has placed an £83 million (€100 million) price tag on their Nigerian attacker, despite heavy interest from clubs in England's Premier League.

After leaving Lille in a deal worth an astounding £67.5 million, Osimhen, 23, signed for Napoli in the summer of 2020.

It's fair to say the Italians expected a little bit more from the 23-year-old forward after his stellar run of 25 goals and seven assists in 55 games across all competitions since then.

According to reports, the African international is eager to cash in while his value is still high, and he could end himself in England's Premier League this summer.

In addition to La Liga leaders Real Madrid, it is believed that as many as five Premier League clubs are interested in signing Osimhen.

Victor Osimhen may depart Napoli this year.

Real interest has been expressed in the striker by a number of clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Newcastle United, Manchester United, and Liverpool. However, it is expected to require a substantial sum of money to lure him away from the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

Manchester United, the 20-time champions of the Premier League, has not been shy in their quest of a new striker in recent years.

Interim boss Ralf Rangnick recently stated that it is 'clear' that the Red Devils will want to sign a younger forward in the summer transfer window, despite only being expected to stay in his position until the end of the current season.

Rangnick, as quoted by ESPN, stated to reporters earlier this year: "This is a clear statement."

There is a pressing need for a new center forward because Edison's contract expires in the summer. This one should go without saying. "I believe that everyone is aware of this."

When it comes to Napoli's Osimhen, though, even though United are believed to be interested, winning the race for his signing is a very different story - especially when faced with such fierce competition.
