How to become a club legend at 24 years old. 🛠
In 2014, a 14-year-old Declan Rice was released by Chelsea after seven years in the academy and joined West Ham.
In 2016/17, he captained the U23s to promotion before making his senior debut in the final game of the season.
In 2018, 2019 and 2020, he was named as the club's Young Player of the Year. In 2020, 2022 and 2023, he was named Hammer of the Year.
In 2021/22, West Ham reached the Europa League semi-final - knocking out now-seven-time winners Sevilla along the way - and vice-captain Declan Rice was named in the UEL Team of the Season.
In 2022/23, Declan Rice inherited the armband full-time from Mark Noble. He led the Hammers to the second European trophy in the club's history, lifting their first major trophy for 43 years.
If this does turn out to be his last game for the club, it could not have gone any better. 🏆
