Botswana agate is a banded variety of agate that has beautiful color bands in colors such as grey, white, and black with soft tones of blue, apricot, pink, and light brown on the base of the stone. The color of this agate makes it different from other varieties of agates, however, like all agates, Botswana agate uses is a type of chalcedony (belonging to the quartz mineral family).
