Urmia University of Medical Sciences in Urmia, West Azerbaijan was originally established in 1980 as the Medical School of Urmia University. In 1985, it separated from Urmia University and established itself as a university in its own right.

The university is now made up of seven schools, namely: Medicine, Allied Medical Sciences, Pharmacy, Health, Nursing and Midwifery, and Dentistry.

In addition to research, Urmia University of Medical Sciences has five different teaching hospitals in West Azerbaijan. Imam Khomeini Hospital is the largest university hospital in the region with a unique trauma center and residency programs in more than 12 different specialties such as general surgery, internal medicine, pathology, urology, orthopedics and anesthesiology.

There are also Syed-Al Shohada University Hospital, Shahid Motahari University Hospital, Ayatollah Taleghani University Hospital and Razi Psychiatric University Hospital. Each hospital has its own specialties.

Various events and activities are organized throughout the year, including tours to Urmia and Iran, holiday celebrations, student competitions, exhibitions and workshops.

Also, there are various sports teams for both men and women.

Eligibility To Study MBBS In Urmia University of Medical Sciences

Students have to set in the following eligibility criteria to get admission in MBBS:

The candidate must have completed 12th from CBSE/ICSE or an equivalent board of examination.

To be qualified for MBBS admission to Urmia University of medical sciences the candidate must have secured at least 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in the 12th examination.

The age for applying MBBS in Iran is 17 years.

The base age to apply for affirmation for MBBS in Iran is 17 years.

In order to get enrolled to MBBS in Iran, the candidate must have qualified the NEET test.

To apply for MBBS in Iran, individuals must have passed the NEET (UG) Entrance exam (according to the most recent MCI release).
