I'll continue to work even if I leave PDP - Wike

Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, has declared that even if he defected from the People's Democratic Party, he would continue to serve.

He believes that leadership is a personal trait that is unrelated to any specific party.

Wike stated how he would effectively combat banditry in Nigeria if gets the opportunity.

This was said by the governor on Tuesday during remarks at the opening of the dualized Ogbunubali-Eastern bypass road in Rivers.

"Leadership is all about the person; it is not about the group. A party is merely a means of achieving your goals and demonstrating to your supporters that you are capable of helping them.

"I will always serve even if you transfer me from the PDP to another party today. So, the reason I'm performing isn't because I'm in PDP. It's because I care so deeply about my people. It's because I'm dedicated to serving my community, Wike remarked.

According to a DAILY POST, Governor Wike has declared that the citizens of his State will not support candidates who don't care about them.

He believes that any politician who seeks the support of the residents of Rivers State must provide benefits  to them.
