"Crypto Queen" Ruja Ignatova, Who Is Linked To The OneCoin Scam, Is Listed As One Of The Top 10 Most Wanted Fu

In a recently released podcast, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) discussed the fraudulent Onecoin cryptocurrency scheme and its co-founder, Ruja Ignatova, also known as "Crypto Queen.

Ignatova was recently put to the list of the FBI's 10 most wanted fugitives after her involvement in Onecoin, which was one of the largest cryptocurrency scams in the world.

Ruja Ignatova and the FBI's Investigation into the Onecoin Crypto Scam

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) released a podcast episode last week under the title "Ten Most Wanted Fugitive Ruja Ignatova." The broadcast was part of the "Inside the FBI" series. Ignatova, who is also nicknamed by some as the "Crypto Queen," is the co-founder of Onecoin, which is one of the largest cryptocurrency scams in the world.

The Inside the FBI podcast provides an audio format for the presentation of news, cases, and personalities from around the FBI. Monica Grover, who works in the Office of Public Affairs for the FBI and hosts the show, provided the following explanation:

We'll find out on this episode of Inside the FBI why Ignatova, through a company that was originally promoted as the 'Bitcoin killer,' didn't change the world… however, they ended up defrauding investors of billions of dollars.

In June, the FBI put Ignatova to its list of the 10 most wanted fugitives in the country. A reward of up to one hundred thousand dollars is being offered by the law enforcement agency for information that may lead to her capture.

The co-founder of Onecoin is also included on the list of individuals wanted by Europe. If you have any information that could lead to the arrest of Ignatova, Europol will pay a reward of up to 5,000 euros ($5,000) for that information.

During the course of the seven-minute audio episode, Grover said that Ignatova was accused with participating in a fraud scheme involving Onecoin on October 12, 2017, and a federal warrant was issued for her arrest. In addition, Grover stated:

She may have been informed that she was the subject of an inquiry, according to the investigators' beliefs. On October 25, 2017, she boarded a flight from Sofia, Bulgaria, to Athens, Greece, and has not been seen or heard from since then.

In the month of July, the Greek police purportedly obtained information that provided clues as to the whereabouts of Ignatova.

Her eyes are brown, and her hair ranges from dark brown to black in color. She is currently 42 years old. However, investigators believe that she may have altered her outward look," Grover went on to clarify. "Ignatova is trilingual, speaking German, English, and Bulgarian. As she is known to have links to Bulgaria, Germany, Russia, Greece, and the United Arab Emirates, it is possible that she is using a fake passport while she is traveling. It is common knowledge that she led an extravagant way of life.

At the end of the podcast, Grover encourages anyone listening who may have information about Ignatova to get in touch with the FBI office in their area or the nearest American embassy or consulate. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through the website.
