More Than a Third of Africa's 53 Million Cryptocurrency Holders Are Nigerian, Study Finds - Africa Bitcoin News

A recent analysis discovered that the African continent currently accounts for 16.5% of the total worldwide cryptocurrency supply thanks to its estimated 53 million bitcoin owners.

According to the conclusions of the study, Nigeria, which has more than 22 million crypto owners, accounts for more than a third of the total number of holders on the African continent at the present time.

Over a third of all cryptocurrency holders in Africa are located in Nigeria.

The most recent data on bitcoin ownership from Triple A indicates that there are currently an estimated 53 million cryptocurrency owners on the African continent. This accounts for around 16.5% of the estimated total population of 320 million across the globe. Over a third of all cryptocurrency holders in Africa are located in the country of Nigeria, which has a population of slightly over 22 million people.

Nigeria is the country with the fourth-highest number of people who possess cryptocurrency on the global scale, while the United States is the country that leads the pack with 46 million people who own cryptocurrency. The data indicates that India and Pakistan are the next two countries in the top five, with a total of 27.4 million and 26.4 million owners of cryptocurrency respectively.

Internet searches for bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in Nigeria are the highest in the world.

Despite the fact that it is rated fourth in terms of cryptocurrency ownership, Nigeria is considered to be the country with the highest "number of people searching for 'bitcoin' and 'crypto' keywords on Google." These findings appear to be supported by the conclusions of another study, which revealed that Nigeria is the country with the highest level of obsession with cryptocurrencies.
