Sunderland manager Tony Mowbray believes that Manchester United loanee Amad has what it takes to start putting the ball in the back of the net after seeing him make an impressive cameo appearance off the bench.
Amad, who joined Sunderland on loan for the remainder of the season in the summer, came off the bench in the 63rd minute during the Black Cats' 2-2 draw with Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday afternoon. Watford's goals were scored by Troy Deeney and Troy Deeney.
Amad, who was acquired by United from Atalanta in a deal that could reach £37.2 million in add-ons, has not yet started for the Championship side, but he has come off the bench in each of the last three matches. The deal that brought Amad to United from Atalanta was worth up to £37.2 million.
Also, Charlie Savage has joined the first-team training squad for Manchester United.
The 20-year-old believed that he had recorded his first assist since beginning his loan stint on Saturday; however, it was determined that Jack Clarke, who volleyed home Amad's cross, was in an offside position. The goal was disallowed.
Amad had a challenging loan stint with Rangers during the previous season, but he has started off strong for the Black Cats, which has led Black Cats manager Mowbray to praise the youngster's play so far this season.
It has been revealed by Guardiola that Kalvin Phillips requires surgery.
The manager of City Football Club has confirmed that Phillips is out for the upcoming England matches due to "another shoulder injury."
Mowbray said, "I thought Amad showed some real class and quality today, as he should because of what he cost Manchester United and he's here on loan." "I thought Amad showed some real class and quality today."
