Marko Arnautovic's agent rejects Man Utd's summer transfer events.

Marko Arnautovic, a striker for Bologna, was rumored to be moving to Manchester United during the course of the summer, but he ultimately decided to remain with his current club beyond the Serie A transfer deadline.

According to the player's agent, Marko Arnautovic rejected a contract offer from Manchester United rather than the other way around.

After playing for Twente together in the past, the Austrian striker Arnautovic became an unexpected target for the Premier League side during the summer. Manager Erik ten Hag had previously coached Arnautovic at Twente. However, he decided to stay at Bologna and has had a strong beginning to the Serie A season as a result of his decision.

It has been reported that Manchester United backed out of a deal to acquire Arnautovic after receiving a sizeable amount of criticism in response to the concerns raised by a subsection of the club's fanbase regarding the rumored transfer. However, according to the information provided by agent Tiziano Pasquali, the events unfolded somewhat differently compared to how they were initially reported.

According to Pasquali's conversation with Gianluca di Marzio, "Yes, Juventus and Manchester United had come forward" (via Sport Witness ). "We had received a written proposal from the English, and the negotiations had continued even after some contrary opinions from their fans," the text of the proposal reads.

"But in the end, it was Marko who decided to not make a big deal out of it and stay at Bologna. How could you possibly believe that he is currently in a precarious situation?

In the end, Juventus focused their attention elsewhere and made a loan acquisition of Poland international striker Arek Milik from Marseille. United, on the other hand, decided to stick with the strikers they already had, making wide forward Antony the only addition to their attacking roster during the month of August.

Arnautovic, who played for Stoke and West Ham during his six years in the Premier League, has been in sensational form in terms of his goal-scoring ability in Italy this season. In spite of the fact that the Rossoblu have only scored eight goals in total and are struggling near the bottom of the table, he has scored six goals through nine games, which is tied for the most in Serie A.
United got off to a similarly slow start, but they have won five of their last six matches, which has moved them up to fifth place in the Premier League table. The most recent of those victories saw Cristiano Ronaldo score his first league goal of the season to help defeat Everton, and Ten Hag has given his verdict on a man who might have ended up leaving Old Trafford over the summer. Ronaldo scored his first league goal of the season to help defeat Everton.

Prior to Thursday's match against Omonia Nicosia, Ten Hag said of Ronaldo, "I want to support him as good as possible." This was said before United's victory. "There are certain requirements that we have for players, in terms of what we anticipate from them in certain positions.

"I want to get the best out of him, and I'm happy to report that he's in better shape now. It was initially thought that there would be a lack of fitness, but as has been demonstrated once more, preseason play is essential.

Ten Hag's squad moved one step closer to advancing to the next stage of the Europa League thanks to a narrow 1-0 victory over the champions of the Cypriot Cup, but Real Sociedad is still in the driver's seat in Group E.
