Mason Greenwood, a football player for Manchester United, was granted release at an earlier court hearing and was then seen driving away from the grounds of the jail in Wales in a vehicle.
The English international footballer, who is 21 years old and plays for the English national team, was not present for the bail application hearing that took place in Manchester on Wednesday morning (October 19). He has been charged with attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behavior, and assault leading to actual bodily harm.
In the past, the Manchester Magistrates' Court has heard that he is charged with attempted rape in connection with an alleged incident that occurred on October 22, 2021; engaging in controlling and coercive behavior between November 1, 2018 and October 15, 2022, specifically accessing and monitoring social media accounts; stopping and altering the way the complainant socialized; and making threatening and derogatory comments towards a female; and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, with a period between December and February of 2021.
