Rafael van der Vaart says Erik ten Hag's "Premier League-winning deal" was denied by Man Utd.

Rafael van der Vaart, a former player for Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid, has asserted that one particular addition may have potentially propelled Manchester United closer winning the Premier League.

Rafael van der Vaart, a former midfielder for Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United, has suggested that the acquisition of Hakim Ziyech might have been able to propel Manchester United toward winning the Premier League title.

Since making his way to the shores of England, the former Ajax playmaker has not exactly reached the heights that were anticipated of him. After being purchased by Chelsea in the summer of 2020, he has not been able to break into the first team at Stamford Bridge. Despite this, he remains with the club. Since then, he has only managed to tally 14 goals for the Blues in his career. On multiple occasions, it has been speculated that he will leave the club. His former club, Ajax, was heavily linked with a move for his services in the summer, when they were looking to find a replacement for Antony, who was moving to Old Trafford. He has been rumored to be interested in playing for Manchester United.

In the end, the Dutch club made a move to acquire a wide player from the Premier League, but they were successful in their pursuit of Tottenham winger Steven Bergwijn. Ten Hag was reportedly interested in making a move for Ziyech, but the Red Devils board shot down Ten Hag's proposal to make the transfer. It is intriguing to note that United themselves were interested in making a move for Ziyech.

In light of the fact that the Moroccan is currently playing for Chelsea and the interest that was shown in his signature, Rafael van der Vaart has asserted that the signing of the Moroccan would have propelled any potential employer, including Tottenham, closer to winning the Premier League title.

In an interview with Ziggo Sport, he stated, "Hakim Ziyech absolutely needs to sign with Tottenham." It is possible that Tottenham will win the Premier League if they are able to acquire Hakim Ziyech. I really mean it."

Hakim Ziyech may leave Chelsea.

It is not yet certain whether or not United will continue to show interest in Ziyech, but the player definitely has a choice to make about his upcoming career. When the summer transfer market opens, the player, who is currently 29 years old, will have just two years left on his deal with Chelsea.

The legendary Dutch player Marco van Basten has commented on the current circumstances surrounding the winger, stating that it is a "shame" that he does not receive more regular football and calling for additional legislation to prevent clubs from stockpiling talented players. He also demanded that more regular football be provided to the player.

He stated that it was unfortunate for the entire game of football that he was forced to sit on the bench. It is not healthy for football if players with these kinds of skills are not given any playing time.

"There need to be a regulation that stipulates that each club is only allowed a particular amount of players. Therefore, they (Chelsea) have much too many, which makes the game of football significantly less entertaining. It would be enough for a guy like Ziyech to only play for another club and keep the supporters entertained.

Since moving to West London, Ziyech has played in a total of 90 games for Chelsea in all competitions, but he has only started 51 of those games. Since the beginning of the season, he has only been given one opportunity to start a game. That opportunity came in August, when Southampton defeated his team by a score of 2-1.
