Manchester United's statement on Ronaldo's interview

During an interview with Piers Morgan, which will be broadcast in its entirety later this week, Cristiano Ronaldo expressed his displeasure with Manchester United and claimed that the organization was attempting to coerce him into leaving the club.

United has made a statement regarding the matter.

The controversial interview that Cristiano Ronaldo gave to Piers Morgan will not receive a response from Manchester United until the "full facts have been established."

The broadcaster has received an interview from Ronaldo, which will be aired in its entirety on Wednesday and Thursday of this week; however, some of the comments have already been provided as previews. The 37-year-old player claims that he has no respect for Erik ten Hag and that he has been "betrayed" by the club. He claims that Erik ten Hag tried to force him out of the club and that he has no respect for the Dutchman.

The first comments were posted online at 10 o'clock at night on Sunday, and more clips are scheduled to be released before the complete interview is broadcast on Piers Uncensored later in the week.

United has now issued a statement in which they say they won't respond until they are aware of the full content of the interview and have the facts surrounding it. "Manchester United is aware of the media coverage that has been given to an interview given by Cristiano Ronaldo. According to the statement, "the club will consider its response after the full facts have been established." The second half of the season, as well as continuing to build momentum, belief, and togetherness among the players, manager, staff, and fans, will continue to be our primary focus as we move forward with the rest of the season.

The first excerpts from the interview were published only a few hours after Manchester United's 2-1 victory over Fulham, which was decided by an injury-time goal scored by Alejandro Garnacho. It also airs at the beginning of a five and a half week break between games for United, which coincides with Ronaldo's departure this week for the World Cup in Qatar.
