The first segment of the interview that Cristiano Ronaldo gave to Piers Morgan has been made public. Ronaldo plays forward for Manchester United.
Cristiano Ronaldo has stated that he enjoyed working with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and that he believes Solskjaer still has a future in football management. Ronaldo also believes that Solskjaer has a future in coaching.
The first hour and a half of Cristiano Ronaldo's interview with Piers Morgan was broadcast on TalkTV on Wednesday evening. Earlier in the week, selected clips from the interview had been made available online. After he criticized manager Erik ten Hag, claimed he felt 'betrayed' by the club, and that he was being forced out of Old Trafford, the Portuguese player's words have already had a massive impact at Manchester United. He also claimed that he was being forced out of Old Trafford.
In addition, Ronaldo took the opportunity to criticize Ralf Rangnick, who has been serving as interim manager since Solskjaer was fired in December of last year. Ronaldo criticized the decision to hire Rangnick, who is now the manager of Austria, saying that Rangnick is "not even a coach" and that he had "never even heard of him." Ronaldo also claimed that he had "never even heard of him."
On the other hand, the 37-year-old player had much nicer things to say about the manager who was in charge at United when he returned. Ronaldo believes Solskjaer can still go on to have a successful coaching career despite the way things concluded in Manchester. Ronaldo scored nine goals in 13 games while Solskjaer was his coach.
"I love Solskjaer. Because I try to keep the hearts of the people I care about most in the center of my heart, I believe he was an outstanding individual. And Ole, in my opinion, is one of the best people... It is not easy. It is challenging to step into [the role] after Sir Alex Ferguson, but I believe he did a good job with what he was given.
You will require a great deal more time. But I have no doubt in my mind that you are going to be an excellent coach in the years to come. However, I learned a lot from the experience. Even though it was only for a short while, I enjoyed my time spent working alongside him very much.
Despite this, there was additional criticism leveled at Rangnick. When questioned as to whether he believes the German was aware of what he was doing, he responded, "No, they don't. They were very familiar with one another in the club.
"However, they are unaware of the most important aspect of the club's interior, which is the club's history. Which is something that came as an even bigger surprise to me. Which is why, in the event that Ole Solskjaer is fired, the club ought to hire a top manager rather than a sports director.
