Christian Eriksen, a midfielder for Manchester United, offered some advice to Hannibal Mejbri, a player on loan from the club, when Mejbri was named to Tunisia's World Cup roster.
Hannibal Mejbri will be competing in his first World Cup, and Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen has offered some words of advice to the young player ahead of the competition. Eriksen advised Mejbri to "enjoy" the tournament.
Erik ten Hag selected Hannibal for United's pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia, but after missing out on the first four games of the season, he decided to move to Birmingham on loan in order to continue his development at St. Andrew's. Erik ten Hag included Hannibal in the United squad for their pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia. The young player, who is only 19 years old, has made a strong impression during his time there, validating his choice to leave Tunisia after being selected for Tunisia's World Cup squad in order to play for a first-team club.
The teenager is one of the 16 United players that will be traveling to Qatar for the tournament. He is a part of Group D, which includes France, which is captained by Raphael Varane, Denmark, captained by Christian Eriksen, and Australia.
At the age of 18, Eriksen made his debut for Denmark's senior national team in 2010, and he was the youngest player at the finals of the World Cup in South Africa that year. After suffering a cardiac arrest during a match against Finland at Euro 2020, the Dane is about to make an emotional return to action when he participates in a major international tournament for the first time since the incident.
A recent revelation made by the midfielder indicated that his primary objective following the incident that occurred two years ago was to compete in the World Cup. Eriksen is going to have his first opportunity to play against Hannibal when Tunisia takes on Denmark. Before leaving for Qatar, Eriksen shared some words of wisdom with Hannibal and the other United youth players who will be competing in the tournament.
Eriksen gave the following interview to the club's internal media: "Yeah, enjoy it, I mean it's not often there is a World Cup so just being there is special and then, of course, getting all the minutes you can on the pitch. Being present at the World Cup itself is a very different experience from competing in the tournament itself. Therefore, make the most of this present time."
