Cristiano Ronaldo evaded queries about Manchester United's demise.

Cristiano Ronaldo is destroying his legacy at Manchester United in the eyes of the fans of the club who still have their faculties intact.

When Cristiano Ronaldo was re-signed by Manchester United, the club reportedly saw an increase of one million followers on Instagram. Should Ronaldo ever make the effort to clean out his locker at Carrington, his fans will immediately evacuate the area.

As a result of Ronaldo's presence and voice carrying such an immense amount of weight, even longtime United fans are beginning to lean toward his camp after being indoctrinated by the rhetoric he used during his interview with Piers Morgan.

When Ronaldo returned to Manchester United, one of the pertinent questions this correspondent planned to ask him was what gave such a serial winner the confidence that he could win with a club that was certain to go nearly five trophyless years. This was one of the questions this correspondent intended to ask.

Ronaldo was not presented to the media, and he has never been present at a pre-match press conference for either the Champions League or the Europa League. He has been inaccessible to anyone other than the occasional rights holder.

Until October of last year, according to sources within the club, he was open to participating in media engagements. I.e. the month in which he disappeared without a trace after being benched for the draw against Everton, the 4-2 defeat at the hands of Leicester, and the 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Liverpool.

In the previous campaign, Ronaldo was not a problem, and if he had been more vocal about his concerns regarding the future of the club, his argument would have been more credible and well-rounded. The statue of Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year was returned to Ronaldo's mantlepiece, and he was also selected for the Premier League's Team of the Year. Ronaldo scored 24 goals during the season.

This season, Ronaldo has turned into a liability and is stuck in the past while Manchester United is making strides forward in the present. Since the 28th of April, he has one goal scored against him in open play in the Premier League.

If Ronaldo detested the Glazer family's ownership that much, he never would have made the decision to switch from the Etihad to Old Trafford. If he had wanted a more luxurious gym and a solid structure, he should have disregarded the oar that Sir Alex Ferguson had stuck in and instead worn the blue and red of Manchester.

United's Carrington training complex is no longer the best-in-class facility that it once was, and the club has been slow to keep up with the times in terms of modernizing it. Since Alex Ferguson stepped down as manager, it is indisputable that the club has not made any progress toward improving any level of its infrastructure. After Ronaldo was sold to Real Madrid for an estimated £80 million in 2009, things started to go downhill quickly.

The working environment at Carrington is still one that any footballer, with the possible exception of Ronaldo, would value. According to a source close to one senior player for United, the atmosphere is "beautiful." Despite the fact that the renovations were finished in the summer, there is no doubt that the gym has evolved since Ronaldo's first stint there.

Complaining about the Glazers and the facilities is old information that becomes meaningless when it is voiced by an employee who is upset with their job. When they allowed a retired 79-year-old to influence their transfer strategy, he let his emotions win out over his rational thinking and allowed his heart to make the decision. Now he is trying to sell a story that has more inconsistencies in its plot than a Marvel movie. It sounded as if Ronaldo had been programmed by the starstruck PR representative who had assisted in the curation of brand Beckham.

This is not some piece of Glazer propaganda. The Manchester Evening News is the only media outlet that MUTV has chosen not to invite onto their Pravda debate show ("because you would actually debate," as one club employee put it), and there have been a multitude of excoriating pieces written by this correspondent and colleagues condemning and criticizing the family's corrosive 17-and-a-half year ownership of the club.
Morgan came across as more of a cheerleader than an interviewer as he delivered an underarm pass for Ronaldo to punt into oblivion. The dedicated correspondents on the Manchester patch are certainly more informed and objective than Morgan.

Morgan stated that Ralf Rangnick "briefed journalists," which is a statement that is completely untrue, and that Rangnick did not challenge Ronaldo on two stories that were filed in the summer by a journalist who is briefed by the Gestifute agency, which is run by Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes. A reporter stated that Ronaldo had asked to leave United and that he enjoyed "the gentler touch" of United chief executive Richard Arnold. The reporter also stated that Ronaldo had requested to leave United. So, Ronaldo, how does it feel to be betrayed? Morgan had no intention of inquiring further.

It wasn't just Ronaldo who was confused by United's decision to hire Rangnick; a lot of people were.

When conducting interviews, the most important thing to remember is to research and familiarize yourself with the topic at hand. Morgan was an unofficial spokesman for the British public when he held Tories to account for their obfuscation during the grimmest months of the pandemic; however, there is a reason why Ronaldo and Donald Trump have held court with him. Morgan was an unofficial spokesman for the British public when he held Tories to account for their obfuscation during the worst months of the pandemic. He is their doting friend, or at least he was in the case of Trump.

The interview that Morgan gave to Talk Sport on the morning of Monday was full of inaccuracies, but he was not corrected on any of them. In each of the following areas, he did not challenge Ronaldo:
The article titled "Cristiano Ronaldo tells Manchester United: It's time for me to leave" was published in The Times on July 5th. The question is, did Ronaldo want to go or not?Why did Ronaldo bring Mendes with him on July 25, the day he went back to Carrington for the first time since May?
Ronaldo has not started for Manchester United in any of the team's victories over Liverpool, Arsenal, or Tottenham, and the team's only draw came against Chelsea. Does he acknowledge that United has progressed in his absence?
With Ronaldo starting all three Premier League games for United, the club has a record of two losses, one draw, and one victory. Is it accurate to say that things have gotten worse with him?
Ronaldo currently has three goals scored for the season. At this point in the previous season, he had already contributed nine goals for United. In total, he has three goals in 16 games played for United during the 2022-2023 season. Is this person's form good enough to warrant a starting role?
Ronaldo has been the recipient of Erik ten Hag's public respect on multiple occasions. He has stated that "We are happy with him" and "We are planning for Cristiano Ronaldo for the season," both of which indicate that he is looking forward to working with Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo "wasn't brought on out of respect for his big career," Ten Hag explained at Manchester City, and Ten Hag congratulated Ronaldo on scoring his 700th club goal by saying that he was "really happy for him." Ronaldo scored his 700th club goal.

Ten Hag refused to single out Ronaldo in the fallout from his early departure during the friendly against Rayo Vallecano, and he was unhappy about the Football Association's belated charge over an incident involving Ronaldo and a fan at Everton during the previous season. However, Ten Hag did not single out Ronaldo in the aftermath of the incident. A few short weeks ago, Ten Hag referred to Ronaldo as a "leader," and on November 6, he made him the captain of the team at Villa Park.

In private, Ronaldo almost certainly has the impression that Ten Hag does not treat him with the same venerable regard as he does other coaches. United needed that, however: a disciplinarian with the authority to deal with the egomaniacs that were present in the dressing room. Ronaldo has made the mistake of underestimating Ten Hag far too often.

The past year has been a difficult one for Ronaldo on a personal level, and anyone who has a child has the utmost empathy for the unimaginably tragic situation he and his family experienced in April. Ronaldo's family has been through a lot. Morgan was left in tears after Ronaldo shared with her the heartbreaking story of the loss of his infant son, Angel, and how he still talks to the urn that holds his son's ashes. It is inconceivable that any father should have to bear the emotional burden of having to tell his children that one of their siblings has "gone to heaven."

Ten Hag has done a commendable job in the wake of the devastation that was United's 2021-22 season, during which Ronaldo was one of the few players to emerge unscathed. United are not where they want to be and continue to be a work in progress; however, they are three points away from fourth place in the Premier League and have a game in hand. In addition, they have advanced to the next round of the League Cup and have advanced to the knockout stage of the Europa League.

Morgan, an avid supporter of Arsenal, ought to be aware of the benefits that come with a club deciding to cut their losses on superstar players. Since Mesut Ozil and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are no longer on Arsenal's roster, the club can finally be considered a serious contender for the first time in 18 years.
