Cristiano Ronaldo spoke to the press in Doha
Following the explosive revelations he made in an interview with Piers Morgan a week ago, Cristiano Ronaldo has insisted that he does not need to worry about what other people think of him.
After the Portuguese forward accused Manchester United of showing him disrespect and criticized the Glazer family for their lack of interest in the football side of things, the club is currently weighing whether or not to fire him. He also criticized the club for its treatment of other players.
The Manchester Evening News reported earlier this week that United believe Ronaldo's criticism of their handling of his absence from the pre-season tour has been unfair, while the majority of Ronaldo's teammates believe he should never play for the club again and that he should never be allowed to return. This information was disclosed earlier this week.
United are currently investigating the possibility of bringing legal action against the 37-year-old player for an alleged breach of contract. If successful, United would be able to terminate the player's current contract as a result of this action.
Since Ronaldo's return to Manchester United a year ago, he has not yet participated in a press conference; therefore, his attendance at Portugal's media duties on Monday came as a complete and utter shock to everyone.
The former Real Madrid forward criticized the timing of his interview but urged the media not to question his teammates about him. He also defended the decision to grant the interview.
He stated this during the press conference by saying, "Timing is always timing." "From your vantage point, it is simple to examine the various timing options that are available to us. You write truths sometimes, but you also write lies at other times. I don't have to be concerned with what the opinions of others are. I only speak when I feel like it. Everyone is well aware of who I am and what I stand for."
