Manchester United player ratings: Casemiro and Martinez good

The Manchester United football team currently sits in fifth place in the Premier League, has advanced to the knockout stage of the Europa League, and has advanced to the fourth round of the League Cup. Here is a rundown of how each player has been rated thus far this season.

David de Gea

After a difficult beginning, he has rebounded to play solid goalkeeping for United and has demonstrated some growth in his distribution. There are still six important months to go. 7

Diogo Dalot

United's most improved player over the past year, he has improved his game while working with Erik ten Hag and was a consistent member of the team up until they played Fulham. A fullback who was once famous for his attacking has evolved into a dependable defender in recent years. 8

Raphael Varane

His recall was a sign that United was on the road to recovery, and it is not a coincidence that City's goal scoring surge began after Varane was sidelined with an injury. The most important player for United and frequently a standout performer, but he is still prone to getting injured. 7

Lisandro Martinez

United's player of the season to this point and widely regarded as one of the best center backs in the Premier League. After suffering a humiliating defeat at the hands of Brentford, he has been nearly perfect for United and frequently emerges from the field as the team's man of the match. 9

Lindelof, Victor.

Lindelof always finds a way to play enough for it to be satisfying, regardless of how many center backs United signs. His start to the season was delayed by an injury, but he has performed admirably next to Martinez and is now preferred to Harry Maguire at this point in the competition. Recuperated nicely after the trip to Aston Villa. 6

 Harry Maguire

Even one appearance in the Premier League over the course of the past three months is telling. Maguire quickly lost Ten Hag's confidence, and today he is only the fourth center-back on the depth chart. A winter World Cup is something that every United national team player would have welcomed with open arms. 3

Luke Shaw

Fortunately, he got the season off to a good start, but he was particularly reprehensible during the generational low point at Brentford. Since he was given back his starting position, he has been playing the best club football he has in almost 18 months. 7

Tyrell Malacia

Up until the point where he met Phil Foden, he was having a strong run in the Premier League. Although he has not yet fully recovered from the derby destruction, he is a useful squad player who has decent potential. 6

Casemiro

Casemiro has been a hero for his team ever since Ten Hag decided to start playing him in the Premier League too late. His probing passing is an additional attacking outlet that can be used against teams that are defensive, and he has single-handedly improved a previously problematic midfield. 8

Christian Eriksen

By not extraditing Frenkie de Jong, United was able to avoid a potentially disastrous situation. Eriksen, who is fully committed to playing for United, has provided craftiness from deep and unlocked defenses, leading to crucial wins (Arsenal, West Ham and Fulham). A deft piece of signing. 8

McDominay, Scott

Although he was instrumental in United's return to form, it is not a coincidence that he has not started a league game since the derby. McTominay has adapted to his new role on the squad, which Ten Hag has recognized as being appropriate for him, and he has scored a couple of important goals as a result. 6

Fred

Due to the fact that his contribution to United's victory over Tottenham was so comprehensive, the Brazilian has a strong argument for claiming that he has turned in the best individual performance of the season. But that was an unusual occurrence. Not helping matters was the fact that I was moved out of position a few times. 5

Donny van de Beek

Van de Beek remained unnoticed throughout all three of United's games despite the fact that the team started with 11 men in San Sebastian and both of their games against Aston Villa. Ten Hag gave him the opportunity to start all three of their games for no apparent reason. A trip back to Amsterdam would be beneficial for everyone involved in this situation. 1

Van de Beek had three chances and failed to take any of them

Bruno Fernandes

A satisfactory first third of the season, and he has been at his best when competing against the best players in the league, but his impacts are still far too inconsistent. It would not be surprising if he were to raise his performance level now that Cristiano Ronaldo has left the team. The three goals scored by Fernandes have all occurred when Ronaldo was not on the field. 6

 Jadon Sancho

Had a reasonable run where he scored important goals, but despite the fact that he contributed little thereafter, he has appeared to be completely off his game ever since the derby. Since their last game, which was over a month ago, they have been training with the coaches that were recommended by Ten Hag. 5

Antony

He has the necessary character to handle the weight of the shirt, in addition to scoring a couple of important goals, which helped him earn it. Still getting used to the new environment, and his contributions to games are spotty at best. 6

 Marcus Rashford.

Has put his terrible year (annus horribilis) in the past and is looking forward to the next few months. Rashford has a total of eight goals, but his performance in the middle of the field against Tottenham was his best. His most valuable contribution continues to be on the left side. 7

Rashford scored winners against Liverpool, Arsenal and West Ham

 Martial, Anthony

Due to three separate injuries, he was sidelined for two-thirds of United's games, but he has either scored or assisted in five of his seven appearances. Still has a lot of work to do in order to live up to the number of his squad. 6

Anthony Elanga

Has not scored a goal at all this season, and with the game scoreless against Liverpool, he really should have done so. At risk of becoming a defensive specialist like Danny Welbeck and Ji-sung Park, both of whom were chosen for their ability to defend rather than their ability to attack. 4

Alejandro Garnacho

Two victories at venues as different as Real Sociedad and Fulham suggest that he is not a one-hit wonder. These victories took place away from Old Trafford. His maturity is particularly welcome in light of the fact that someone twice his age was responsible for acting immaturely. 8

Cristiano Ronaldo

The fact that he has only scored three goals in sixteen games speaks for itself; this is a third of the number Ronaldo had scored by this point in the previous season, and two of those goals came against FC Sheriff. United played better and had their best results without Ronaldo, who was more of a hindrance than a help before he threw away the baby carriage and all of his toys to gain an exit from the club that Jorge Mendes was unable to secure in the summer. 3
