The meeting takes place less than twenty-four hours after Tinubu ordered the Department of State Services (DSS) to vacate the anti-corruption commission's Ikoyi office.

There are rumors that the purpose of today's meeting at the Villa may be related to the reported conflict between the EFCC and the DSS, although this has not yet been confirmed.

Mele Kyari, the head of the EFCC, who reportedly attended the meeting with the CEO of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), did not disclose the purpose of their meeting with Tinubu following their meeting with the president.
