Destiny Etiko, a well-known Nigerian actress, is receiving criticism from netizens in response to a remark she made about her Yoruba-speaking colleagues.

Destiny Etiko had taken to social media to share a video of herself at a filming location, while urging her Yoruba-speaking coworkers to cease using their language to communicate with everyone.

She added that many Yoruba actors are accustomed to it, which is inappropriate. The Thespian suggested that they should speak English or pidgin instead.

Destiny Etiko herself, in the video, incorporated a few phrases in her dialect while communicating her message.

In response to the post, many criticized the actress for not practicing what she preaches, as she is culpable of using her dialect in every sentence.

However, a few others defended her, stating that the actress is simply expressing the truth.
