A female doctor dies in a Lagos General Hospital elevator two weeks before housemanship.

She was approaching from the 10th floor when the elevator, which had supposedly been malfunctioning for some time, collapsed to the bottom floor.

On Tuesday, August 1, a doctor identified as Dr. Vwaere Diaso died in an elevator accident at the General Hospital in Odan, Lagos State.

According to her colleagues and friends, Vwaere, who received her medical degree from Babcock University, was on her way to retrieve her food from a dispatch ride when the incident occurred.

She was approaching from the tenth floor when the elevator, which allegedly had been malfunctioning for some time, collapsed to the ground floor.

He was transported to the emergency room when her body was discovered.

Friends and coworkers lamented their loss on social media and revealed that the elevator had been malfunctioning for some time, but hospital management allegedly neglected to repair it until yesterday, August 1.

“Particularly aggrieved because we’ve complained for a long time about this elevator. We’ve maneuvered, managed and prayed each time we had to use it. Empty promises will be made to fix it….till it killed one of us,” one of her colleagues wrote on Twitter.

Another commented; “Corruption kills. This is the real life consequences of having people award contracts based on nepotism and skim off budgets..

cause that elevator has been bad since I first used it in 2018. Refused to solve it permanently. Mow I’m hearing the bastards are telling people to lie!! Better don’t let them bully you!!! That could have been you in that elevator.”
