HOW TO WATCH AND FOLLOW UNITED V ATHLETIC CLUB.

On Sunday, Manchester United will play Athletic Club in Dublin, signifying our final preseason match before the 2023/24 season begins.

The match is scheduled to begin at 16:00 BST at the Aviva Stadium, and it will be our first game on Irish soil since 2017.

It will be the third time the Reds have played at the 51,700-seat venue, where they defeated a League of Ireland XI 7-1 in the 2010 opener and Italian side Sampdoria 2-1 seven years later.

The last time we faced Athletic Bilbao was in the round of 16 of the Europa League in 2012, when we were defeated 5-3 on aggregate.

With the game only days away, here are all the pertinent details...

HOW TO FOLLOW AND WATCH

United's friendly against the Basque club will be broadcast live on MUTV, with multiple platforms providing exclusive coverage.

The day before our penultimate match against Lens at Old Trafford, Erik ten Hag is anticipated to evenly distribute his squad.

As always, ManUtd.com and the Official App will bring you all the latest from Dublin, including interviews, reaction, and post-match analysis.

The complete match replay and all highlights will also be accessible via our platforms.

TICKET DESCRIPTIONS

Unfortunately, tickets for the event are no longer available, as high demand led to a rapid sell-out.

WHAT IS THE TEAM UPDATE?

Fans in Ireland will be hoping to catch a glimpse of Andre Onana and Mason Mount, two new signings. At this time, we do not know Ten Hag's intentions regarding the team composition for the two matches, but it is probable that two strong XIs will be selected.

There is also a possibility that a number of young Reds will participate at some point, each attempting to establish their own claim for a breakthrough in 2023/24.

The encounter will also be a reunion for former Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera, who is currently in his second stint with the La Liga club.

Athletic Club has traditionally adhered to a stringent transfer policy, which restricts them to signing only Basque-born or Basque-club-trained players.

In addition, Ernesto Valverde's squad has added Inigo Ruiz de Galarreta and Javier Marton this summer, with both players hoping to play against Manchester United. However, Yeray Alvarez and Dani Garcia have sustained injuries.

United and Athletic Club have met four times throughout history, with our August opponents prevailing three times extending back to 1957.

The Reds advanced to the semi-finals with a 6-5 aggregate victory after two legs in the quarterfinals, despite suffering a 5-3 defeat in Spain. Johnny Berry, Tommy Taylor, and Dennis Viollet scored in a 3-0 victory to ensure our advancement.

Our only other two head-to-head meetings occurred in the Europa League in 2012, where Herrera's team displayed inspired play to eliminate the Reds.

After defeating Manchester United 3-2 at Old Trafford and Spain 2-1, Marcelo Bielsa's squad shocked the world with goals from Fernando Llorente and Oscar De Marcos.
