Chinenye was assaulted by Obed Chekwube Ugwuanyi, also known as MC Sharp (male, 32 years old), Chinenye Agbo, also known as Star Ella Ada (female, 26 years old), and Anastasia Onu (female, 26 years old), according to the Enugu State Police Comm

Chinenye was subjected to incomprehensible physical abuse in a video captured by this trio and others who are presently at large.

Chinenye was beaten, stripped nude, and forcibly had her hair shaved for allegedly attacking and biting the chest of Anastasia, Obed's companion.

Chinenye was subjected to inhumane and demeaning treatment, which sparked public outrage and calls for justice as a result of a video that circulated on social media.

However, in an unexpected turn of events, the suspects are now claiming that the incident was a prank designed to help them acquire social media followers.

A statement by the police spokesperson, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, noted that;

“Preliminary investigation reveals that the trio are, however, claiming that the video, which has generated public outcry and condemnation due to the inconceivable assault, inhuman and degrading treatments meted out on Chinenye as seen in the video, is a prank and meant to garner followers on their social media accounts.

Ndukwe added that the state commissioner of police, CP Ahmed Ammani, while condemning the act, has ordered the State CID Enugu to investigate exhaustively and prosecute those found culpable in order to serve as a deterrent to anyone who might want to commit such an act under the guise of a prank.
