A positive Covid-19 test result has been confirmed by Ralf Rangnick, and Bruno Fernandes will miss Manchester United's Champions League return leg against Atletico Madrid.
Fernandes didn't play in Manchester City's 3-2 victory over Tottenham on Saturday because he was sick, according to the Manchester Evening News. Rangnick didn't say if Covid was with Fernandes when he did his pre-match media duties.

A false positive for Covid was detected in David de Gea's blood test on Friday, but it turned out to be a false positive and he was cleared to play. After the MEN reported that De Gea was deemed unavailable until the morning of the Spurs game, Rangnick confirmed that this was correct.

United's planned stay at The Lowry Hotel the night before the Tottenham game had to be canceled due to the Covid scare, so the players arrived separately at Old Trafford.
