This summer, according to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United's attacking midfielder will leave the club.

Edinson Cavani will depart Manchester United at the end of the season when his contract expires.

That is according to a recent revelation from famous football transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, who claims that the South American attacker will not be re-signed by Old Trafford.

Following the expiration of his contract with Paris-Saint-Germain, Cavani joined the Red Devils on a free transfer during the summer of 2020.

Cavani may depart United this summer.

Since moving to England's top division, the Uruguayan international has played a role in 26 goals in 55 appearances in all competitions.

In fact, the 35-year-old has had a long string of minor injuries that have kept him out of the game for a long time. This has frustrated some fans.

Ralf Rangnick, the interim manager at Manchester United, said after the 1-1 draw with Southampton last month: "Edi trained well in the last three days but, at the end, he didn't feel quite well enough to play."

When Cavani leaves, many Manchester United fans will be sad. But the club needs to focus on getting someone younger and more fresh-faced in order to keep Cristiano Ronaldo (37) for another season.
