Manchester United legend defends Harry Maguire but wants two new centre-backs signings.

Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand has called on his old team to make two big-name acquisitions in defence, while defending the performance of Harry Maguire.

According to the former Manchester United great, a lot of what's happening to Harry Maguire at the moment is just poor luck, which can happen to even the best players.
Ferdinand, though, is desperate for Manchester United to reinforce at the back, stating that he would buy Marquinhos of Paris Saint-Germain and Ronald Araujo of Barcelona.

even when he wants to be nice, Ferdinand doesn't want to be too harsh on Maguire. He doesn't think the England international can turn things around for himself if he wants to see big names like Marquinhos and Araujo come to Old Trafford. They'd both be signed to be first-choice alongside Raphael Varane, who moved to Manchester United in a big deal last summer.

"I'd sign Marquinhos," Ferdinand said to Vibe with Five. I'd sign the Uruguayan [Araujo] at Barcelona.

There seems to be something about Harry Maguire that is being questioned week after week, and it's fairly obvious.

And, listen, we've all been through periods like this; it happened to me during my career. But a lot of the time, it's just bad luck.

"There are times in a career, as Harry Maguire is experiencing right now, when everything you do appears to be a fault, a mistake."
