Manchester United lament two high-profile Solskjaer signings worth €115m.

Manchester United are apparently interested in signing Jules Kounde and Diego Carlos from Sevilla, according to reports.

Having been outstanding for Sevilla in previous seasons, the central defensive partnership might be valuable additions at Old Trafford, where there are obvious problems at the back.

United have already expressed remorse over the signings of Harry Maguire and Raphael Varane, and Todo Fichajes believes that they will fix this mistake by seeking new players in the defensive midfield positions going forward.

Red Devils' preferred choice appears to be Kounde, who would cost roughly €65million, according to the source, while Carlos is also a viable possibility, though his price tag is a little lower at around €50m.

Jules Kounde and Diego Carlos

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's disastrous signings of Maguire and Varane might be replaced by these two, who could be a considerable improvement over the current duo.

Under the Norwegian strategist, the likes of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Donny van de Beek, and Daniel James have all proven to be bad acquisitions, while even the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho have had a hit-and-miss season.

In order for MUFC to have a greater chance of competing for major honors next season, they need to sign either Kounde or Carlos.
