Exclusive: Super Agent replies to reports linking Marcus Rashford to Liverpool.

Rob Segal, the agent for Manchester United's Marcus Rashford, has responded to rumors that the Reds are interested in signing him.

Rashford has been linked with a move away from Manchester United, following a period of inconsistency during his time at the club. After establishing himself as a fan favorite at the club when he first appeared on the scene at the age of 18, a spate of disappointing performances has left him lacking in confidence and looking nothing like the player he was previously.

Caught Offside has obtained an exclusive interview with Rob Segal in which he responds to reports tying him to Liverpool. "As far as the recent links with Liverpool are concerned... Segal responded, "Never in a million years."

Segal has been in the game for a long enough period of time to be familiar with the ins and outs of football transactions. The last thing a club like Manchester United should do when they are experiencing a period of mediocrity is sell a graduate from their academy to one of their most important Premier League rivals. However, that is exactly what they did.

It has been suggested that Marcus Rashford will depart Manchester United this summer.

Fan dissatisfaction with the team's lack of success in recent years is clearly evident in the relationship between the club and its fans. Selling Rashford may be in the best interests of all parties, but selling him in order to enhance a team that they have a deep-seated animosity toward will just exacerbate the situation.

According to Segal, "the reality is that Rashford has not performed well in the last two years, and when it comes to the prospect of potentially being handed a new deal at United, given the financial state of the game at the moment, clubs are not looking to hand players four or five-year contracts when they still have 18-months or two years left on their existing terms."

During the previous several years, even a club the size of Manchester United would have suffered financial consequences as a result of the pandemic. It is possible that they will be able to secure a significant pay for him, and he may be on his way out the door if they are successful.

The 24-year-contract old's with Manchester United expires in June 2023, and the Red Devils must decide whether to cash in on him now or risk him being freed on a free transfer.

Despite the fact that his value is diminishing with each terrible performance, clubs recognize the potential that the England international possesses, and a move away from Manchester City could rekindle the fire in him.

Rashford has recently been linked with a move to Barcelona, and it is possible that moving overseas will be the finest thing that ever happens to him. When Rashford is not under the scrutiny of the English media, he has the freedom to play his game with greater abandon.

In all of the OBEs and off-field ambassador responsibilities, I'm wondering if Rashford got a little too involved, a little too early. Further remarking on Rashford's troubles, Segal says, "I believe he should have focused his efforts mostly on the football side of things."

His off-field activities are sometimes blamed for his poor on-field results. He devotes a significant amount of time and effort to helping those in need, but his charitable work is frequently viewed negatively by fans and the media, who argue that he should instead concentrate on his football career.

While it is impossible to determine if this is correct or incorrect, there is no denying his performances have declined in recent years.

His career could be resurrected if he joins Barcelona, and we may finally get to see the Marcus Rashford who rose to prominence at Old Trafford.
