After Gary Neville's tirade, Gary Lineker praises Manchester United's global squad.

Following Gary Neville's criticism of the current crop of football analysts, the two pundits engaged in a Twitter spat.

In response to Gary Neville's social media attack on the current Manchester United squad, former England captain Gary Lineker has retaliated.

The two players-turned-pundits got into it on Twitter when Neville ripped out Ralf Rangnick and his Manchester United team for embarking on a 'world tour' in the aftermath of their 2-1 loss to Atletico Madrid at the Etihad Stadium. The Champions League was Manchester United's last chance to win a trophy this season, after their Premier League title chances had been dashed by the November break and they had been eliminated from both the League Cup and the FA Cup.

United players were granted time off by the German temporary manager because the team would not play again in March due to match postponements and a scheduled international break. Meanwhile, Rangnick was in Barbados for the cricket Test match between England and the West Indies, while Marcus Rashford and Scott McTominay were in Dubai for a boxing bout, and Joel Glazer was in Bahrain for the first Formula One race of the season, which was won by Mercedes.

As a result of the defeat, Neville expressed his displeasure with the activities and asked that those engaged keep a low profile. The former Manchester United captain slammed the players and club executives, calling them 'tone deaf,' for releasing the photographs so soon after the club had been eliminated from the premier European championship.

Lineker, on the other hand, had a different perspective. They were largely busy getting hammered down the pub when they were players, and the Match of the Day host compared today's exposure to that time. "True, they were mostly busy getting hammered down the pub without everyone on social media spying on them," he said.

Lineker went on to say the following to his 8.3 million followers: "Do you truly believe that this is a problem? The practice of going to see other sports has always been prevalent. That's a good thing, by the way."
