In order to replace current temporary manager Ralf Rangnick, the Red Devils are in the process of recruiting a permanent replacement, and Neville given fans on Twitter the option of choosing between Erik ten Hag or Mauricio Pochettino.
The answer has been overwhelmingly positive at the time of writing, with over 80 percent of the 173k or so fans who responded choosing the Ajax manager over the former Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham manager...
Pochettino has more experience in the Premier League, having previously done excellent work for Tottenham Hotspur. However, his time at Paris Saint-Germain has been disappointing, and this could be working against him now.
Although it would be interesting to see who Man Utd supporters would chose if they were given a variety of other options to choose from,
If you listen to Luke Chadwick, a former Manchester United midfielder, he believes Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is a better alternative than any of those two, and that he should be considered if there's a chance of his leaving Stamford Bridge in the future.
According to Chadwick, "the way things have gone at PSG has not done Pochettino any favors." In the first leg against Real Madrid, you could argue that they had a legitimate chance of winning the Champions League – they have excellent players and are quick on the counter-attack – but things haven't gone quite as Pochettino would've liked in the second leg against Barcelona.
For a long time, I've been convinced that Pochettino could be the right man for the position. I still believe he is capable of doing a terrific job, but when you look at how things ended up at Tottenham, it was a disaster for him, and they didn't actually win anything.
Because of his vastly different background and skills, Ten Hag is clearly an underdog, yet it appears that he'll be the one to accomplish the job. The most important thing is that it be announced so that the club can begin construction and so that both the supporters and the players are aware of who is coming in to play for the club. So that they have as much time as possible to prepare for the start of the following season, it's imperative that they make their selection now!
"The manner in which Tuchel has conducted himself throughout the Chelsea situation has been outstanding, and it is clear that he is a world-class manager." With all he's accomplished in the game, he has unquestionably compiled a more impressive CV than either Pochettino or Ten Hag.
In the event that he's a viable choice, I'm sure that everyone at Manchester United would be eager to speak with him and bring him to our stadium. Even if a buyout is completed at Chelsea, given the current status of the two teams, you would expect Tuchel to remain in his position, even if there is uncertainty around Chelsea until Roman Abramovich leaves."
