After Erik ten Hag's interview, Rio Ferdinand warns of a "big appointment" at Man United.

The former United centre-back believes that the decision could 'change everything'

Rio Ferdinand has issued a stern warning to the Manchester United board of directors, claiming that the hiring of the club's next manager is a'massive' decision.

According to reports in the Manchester Evening News, Erik ten Hag has been interviewed for the vacant managerial role at Old Trafford earlier this week. According to MEN Sport, Ten Hag is the board's preferred candidate for the position of new manager, but the organization is not ruling out a move for an alternative, such as Mauricio Pochettino.

Ferdinand went on the Vibe with Five YouTube channel to talk about the significance of this occasion for Manchester United. In his words, "Manchester United appear to be talking to people in the management department."

Eric ten Hag is on that list, as is Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino. Listen, if Ten Hag is the perpetrator, we must rally around him.

"However, it's a significant decision, dude. This is the one who, at the moment, has the ability to change everything at the club.

"There must be a driving force behind this club's return to competitiveness, and it must be this one person. It's a big decision, you know.

"For far too long, we've been in a poor circumstance. This appointment is enormous, and for good reason! It has everything to do with the club's culture.

In order to create the proper culture, you need someone with experience.

If Ten Hag is appointed, reports have claimed that United would attempt to recruit a former player to serve as Ten Hag's right-hand man. Both Robin van Persie and Ruud van Nistelrooy have been mentioned as potential assistants for the Dutch national team.
