Predicting how Manchester United will line up on the first day of next season is proving to be more difficult than predicting the winning lottery numbers from Saturday night.

United are preparing for what will be their most successful summer in recent memory, with just under two months left until the end of the 2021/22 season comes to a close. Having failed to restore Manchester United to a position where they could challenge for the Premier League title this season despite the additions of Raphael Varane, Jadon Sancho, and Cristiano Ronaldo, major changes are required at Old Trafford in the coming months, beginning with the appointment of a new permanent manager.

While the appointment of a new manager will cross another item off of Richard Arnold's to-do list, the squad as a whole is in desperate need of reorganization. Many Manchester United players have reached the end of their careers, and you can be sure that several of them will be saying their final goodbyes in the coming months.

Many players are already crafting their farewell speeches, including Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Edinson Cavani. They all appear to be on their way out of the club on free transfers, which will immediately reduce the club's pay expenditure.

It is time for United, even if it means taking a financial penalty on their investment, to let him go. Given the fact that the modern-day full-back must provide breadth and support in the final third, Manchester United may be interested in signing Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan.

The rewards could be worth more than their weight in gold, but he would have to charge a transfer fee. United have struggled at right-back for much of the season, and the Dutchman would be a significant improvement.

United will need to bring in at least one new centre-back to replace Jones and Bailly, who are both expected to leave the club in the near future. Sancho, Elanga, Rashford, Amad, Ronaldo, and Isak are the main attackers.
