Manchester United identify four primary transfer targets to cast doubt on some prominent names.

Manchester United are rumored to have identified four key areas in which they want to make improvements during the summer transfer season.

According to The Athletic, the Red Devils are on the market for a new striker, with Tottenham star Harry Kane being mentioned as a possible target. They are also interested in two central midfielders and a right winger, among other players.

These are intriguing selections, and they may provide a significant signal as to who will be crucial figures in the Manchester United squad next season, as well as who may struggle to maintain a regular position in the squad.

Of course, we already know that Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard are set to be out of contract in the summer and will leave voids when they depart, and the interest in so many new midfielders may indicate that loaned-out players Donny van de Beek and Anthony Martial will not be returning to Old Trafford in the near future.

In some ways, it's surprising that Manchester United aren't looking to add to their defensive ranks. After all, Harry Maguire has had a disappointing season, while Raphael Varane hasn't had much of an impact so far this season.

It is clear that the future manager of Manchester United will have a difficult task ahead of him, and in truth, four new additions does not appear to be nearly enough to address the major concerns in this group.
