Ferguson and Rangnick dispute on who should be the next manager of Manchester United.

A number of key figures at Manchester United are said to be at odds on who should be appointed as the club's next permanent manager.

According to the Daily Mail, Sir Alex Ferguson prefers Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of Paris Saint-Germain, while current interim manager Ralf Rangnick prefers Erik ten Hag, the manager of Ajax.

After a difficult few years following Ferguson's departure, Manchester United are in desperate need of a successful managerial appointment. As a result, the fact that the club does not appear to be united on this subject does not appear ideal.

Pochettino has previously demonstrated his ability in the Premier League, which may provide the Red Devils with a better indication of how he would perform in the role than Ten Hag, who would be taking up his first position outside of the Netherlands except from a brief stint with Bayern Munich II.

Pochettino or Ten Hag as United boss?

Ten Hag, on the other hand, appears to be a promising managerial prospect on the rise, whilst Pochettino has struggled at his current club, Paris Saint-Germain.

When the dust settles, it will be interesting to observe which figures have the most impact over who gets the job.
