"You'd want to play for him" - Manchester United icon reveals his preferred manager over Ten Hag.

Nicky Butt, a former Manchester United player, has stated that Mauricio Pochettino is his top choice to replace Sir Alex Ferguson as the club's manager.

The Red Devils are currently managed by Ralf Rangnick, who will serve as interim head coach until the end of the season. A new permanent head coach will be hired in the summer.

According to the Times and other publications, Erik ten Hag appears to be the frontrunner to take over as manager of Manchester United, and there's no doubt that the Dutch tactician has made an impression during his time in command of Ajax.

Pochettino, despite his lack of convincing performances during his time at Paris Saint-Germain, is likely to be preferred by many fans due to his greater experience.

He was excellent during his previous stint in the Premier League, with Tottenham, and Butt believes he is still the best man for the position, citing his extensive experience and the strong coaching team that he has behind him as reasons for this belief.

Mauricio Pochettino to Manchester United?

According to Butt, the United States "needs stability" in order to be successful. "They can't keep putting inexperienced people in positions of authority like temporary managers or trainees. These people need somebody who have actually gone through the experience.

Mauricio Pochettino would be the ideal manager for me. United would benefit from his experience playing in the Premier League, youth, enthusiasm, and a coaching staff that appears to be on the ball. I had lunch with him a few times at Spurs' training facility. Playing for him is a dream come true for every athlete."
