David Beckham wants to add former Barcelona players to his Major League Soccer franchise.

A slew of Barcelona luminaries, including David Beckham, the former Manchester United and Real Madrid striker, are interested in joining David Beckham's new Major League Soccer side, Inter Miami.

With the help of his wife, Victoria, Beckham established a new Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise in 2018 called Inter Miami. And he has set himself lofty and audacious goals.

In an interview with Sport, Beckham expressed his desire to bring a number of still-active Barcelona stars to his team, with the likes of Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba being targeted for transfer when their contracts expire in 2023 and 2024 respectively.

Beckham is likely to target Alba (center), Messi (left), and Suarez for a move when their contracts expire (right).

A source close to Sport has also stated that he would like to bring the former Barcelona striking force pair of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez to Miami in order to reconnect them following their split when Suarez departed the club.

A number of high-profile players have already signed on with Inter Miami. Names such as Blaise Matuidi, the French World Cup winner, and 2014 finalist Gonzalo Higuain, together with former Newcastle and Arsenal talents DeAndre Yedlin and Kieran Gibbs, come to mind.

The Major League Soccer criteria for registering players and staying inside the salary cap are complicated and difficult to understand, and most teams will find themselves with only one or two major players on their roster at any given moment as a result of these laws. Nonetheless, if Beckham can make it work, he will be able to form his own little super-group.
