“They've dragged our pants down,” says Manchester United legend.

Rio Ferdinand, a former Manchester United midfielder, has criticised his former club for twice losing Paul Pogba to a free transfer.

Because his contract with Manchester United is set to expire at the end of this season and there has been no sign of a renewal, the France international is highly likely to depart the club at the end of this season.

Paul Pogba came to Old Trafford for a second time in 2016, signing in a high-profile transfer from Juventus, where he'd previously played for them on a free transfer in 2012. He'd left United as a youth after failing to receive any playing time at the club.

Ferdinand is plainly dissatisfied with the way United has conducted business in the country, despite the fact that the club spent a lot of money on Pogba in 2016, despite the fact that it appears he will walk away from the club for free.

In the end, Pogba will leave Manchester United.

Ferdinand stated on his Vibe with Five YouTube show that "business has been done poorly at the club."

"We shouldn't be allowing players to get to this point in their contracts," says the coach. It's not something I believe should happen.

To allow someone on whom you've spent £80m or £90m, plus salary, to leave on a free transfer is completely wicked from an economic standpoint. "It's as though they've taken our trousers off twice."

United supporters would almost certainly share Ferdinand's dissatisfaction with this result, albeit they will almost certainly be pleased to see Pogba go.

The 29-year-old may be a wonderful natural talent, but he has failed to live up to expectations during his time at Manchester United, and it would probably be best if he were removed from the club.
