New World is an upcoming massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) by Amazon Games set to be released on September 28, 2021. Players create their characters and find themselves on Aeternum Island, and they can gather, craft and fight, etc.
If you are new or never played the beta, that puts you at a disadvantage. So in this guide, we bring some tips to help you get started playing the game. You'll find firm footing from which you can begin your character's journey across the mystical, dangerous, and fascinating land of Aeturnum.
Use Two Weapons Slots
Weapons are an Equipment type in New World. You have two weapon slots, and you should make use of both of them. Not only does this mean you can get the best of both worlds by combining melee and ranged weapons, but you can also make weapon skill is increased via using that weapon which in turn unlocks weapon-specific abilities and perks.
Pay Attention The Equipe Weight
The game adds up the total weight of your character's armour and shield and then designates your overall gear as either Light, Medium, or Heavy. The gear you equip contributes to your overall weight. This can affect how well you're able to move and dodge. If you're going for a tougher build, you might not mind sacrificing mobility for higher defense, but if you're going for a more evasive playstyle, you should pay attention to the weight of the gear.
Always Repair Items
Just like in any other MMO, anytime you use an item, its durability is reduced. After using a weapon for an extended period, you'll have to repair it. When repairing a piece of gear, you must pay a scaling amount of new world gold coins and a New World-specific resource called repair parts. Repair parts are a currency specifically used for repairing your gear, and they can be obtained by salvaging gear you don't need.
Unlock Fast Travel Options
To Fast Travel in New World, open your map while inside any settlement, outpost, or spirit shrine. Hover your mouse over them, and choose the option to Fast Travel. Then, simply pay the amount of Azoth required. You'll be in the desired settlement in no time. Obviously, the option of fast traveling is a necessity in any game with a vast map, and this one is no exception.
Start Crafting Early
Crafting is a core gameplay element in New World. There are multiple crafting skills that allow the player to combine gathered and refined resources to create consumables, weapons, apparel, and house furnishings. Improving a profession allows players to unlock new recipes as well as to craft higher-tier items. The Trading Post means you'll be able to sell the stuff you make, too, though you should check to see what sells well before committing if you're crafting purely to make coins. So there are plenty of benefits to getting started with crafting early.
Choose A Faction
You'll need to pick one of three factions to join. You'll have to choose between The Marauders, The Covenant, and The Syndicate. The faction you choose has a big impact on your gameplay because it will influence which side you fight for when you start to delve into the late-game PvP side of New World.
Buy House
Purchasing a house in New World can most definitely come with an exciting payoff for players. As well as decorating your space how you want it, your house will act as a recall point. You can also increase your storage and gain buffs from trophies that you hang as decorations. Before you're allowed to buy a house in a certain area, aside from you having enough new world MMO coins to purchase your property, you'll also need to be level 15 and have a standing of 10—or greater—with the territory where the settlement is located.
