Young midfielder set to get first-team chance at Manchester United.

Despite the fact that Manchester United are preparing for life without Paul Pogba, there is one player who stands to gain the most from the Frenchman's upcoming departure: James Garner, who is currently on loan at the club from Fulham.

According to a recent article from The Telegraph, Garner is on the verge of being promoted to the club's senior first-team at the end of the current campaign.

The young Englishman is now on loan at Championship side Nottingham Forest, where he has made a significant impact so far this season.

In spite of the fact that Garner is only on loan from Forest, his performances have earned him the respect of the Forest faithful at the City Ground.

As of this writing, he has played in 57 games in all competitions for the 21-year-old since his arrival to the Bundesliga in the summer of 2013.

The Red Devils are expected to reward the young midfielder for his outstanding performances by giving him the opportunity to continue his growth with the first team in the near future.

According to MEN, technical director Darren Fletcher expressed optimism about the future of Garner and other young players in the club's ranks earlier this year, saying: "Hopefully we'll see youngsters like Brandon Williams, Teden Mengi, Jimmy Garner, Ethan Laird, Tahith Chong, and Amad Diallo reap the benefits of that."

"They're all doing fantastically well on loan, and we're looking forward to bringing them back in pre-season to see how they get on with our first-teamers."

Garner has been a United player since joining the club's junior program in 2009, and while he earned his first-team debut at the conclusion of last season, the teenager has the potential to really shine next season as he attempts to fill the big vacuum left by the impending departure of Paul Pogba.
