Henderson, who turned 25 this month, has experienced a season that has been a complete write-off after briefly being United's first-choice at this time last year.

He is looking for regular playing time in the summer, and it remains to be seen whether Erik ten Hag, who was eager to sign Henderson on loan for Ajax in January, will be as anxious to have him in goal for Manchester United.

Next month, David de Gea will win the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year title for the sixth time in his career; nevertheless, his unexpected exclusion from the Spanish national team by Luis Enrique has taken some of the sting out of any decision to demote him at the club level.

Phil Jones 

It is safe to assume that the one-year option will not be exercised, therefore United have two transfer windows remaining to get a fee for Jones. Otherwise, he will be released on free agency next summer.

Jones, 30, has only appeared in one game in the past two seasons, but he has been healthy for the majority of the season and has moved ahead of Eric Bailly in the center-back pecking order.

Ed Woodward's decision to authorize a new contract for Bailly last year, when his previous term was set to end this year, is being resented by several within the club. When Bailly was not selected to play in the Europa League final, he vowed to quit the club, and his dissatisfaction with Harry Maguire's position in the team is one of the worst-kept secrets in the Manchester United dressing room.

Axel Tuanzebe 

This season, James Garner has been the lone uncontested success story for Manchester United on loan. Tuanzebe, on the other hand, is the polar opposite, having been released by Aston Villa only to appear twice for Napoli. The 24-year-old hasn't appeared on the field in three months.

Tuanzebe had another injury in Naples that forced him to miss six weeks of action, but he has grown all too accustomed to starting and finishing games on the substitutes' bench.

Tuanzebe made his United debut more than five years ago, and his opportunity may have passed him by.

Donny van de Beek 

During Ten Hag's tenure at Ajax, Van de Beek rose to fame as a member of the enthralling squad that defeated Real Madrid and Juventus in the Champions League knockout round in 2019. As a result of Van de Beek's poor performance at Manchester United throughout the course of the last two seasons, he was prepared to leave United for Everton in August. At Goodison Park, the atmosphere has become decidedly suffocating.

United's desire to acquire a defensive midfielder, the rise of Fred, and the extension of the contract of Bruno Fernandes all point to Van de Beek having to wait for his opportunity at Old Trafford.

Having recently become the father of Lomée, a baby girl born to the Dutchman's partner Estelle, stability will undoubtedly be important for the couple, who relocated to Manchester during the epidemic summer of 2020.

Cristiano Ronaldo 

Considering the uncertainty surrounding Ronaldo's long-term future, it's odd that United might lean on the advice of an interim coach whose most notable achievements came while working with Hoffenheim, Schalke, and RB Leipzig. Ralf Rangnick's opinion is no longer valid, and he is already phasing out several Manchester United careers as a result of his actions. I think it would be rude of us to throw Ronaldo in the same trash can as them.

Rather than putting an end to Marcus Rashford's bad form, the Red Devils should reward him or Luke Shaw with a new contract in the summer.

Several elite clubs have expressed interest in Rashford following the Manchester derby last month, which was revealed after the game. With United historically incapable of aggressively offloading players, it appears unfathomable that they could part ways with Rashford and Martial in the same summer, particularly given the unexpected scarcity of top-tier options on the flanks.

Amad and Facundo Pellistri
