As a result of Matic's statement, the man responsible for bringing him to Old Trafford, Jose Mourinho, has sent the Serbian a sincere note.

"I'm honored to be a part of your history," Mourinho wrote on Twitter.

Prior to their transfer to Old Trafford, Matic and Mourinho were teammates at Chelsea, where they won the Premier League in 2014/15.
