After Flamengo agreed to pay £10m for Andreas Pereira, it looked like the Manchester United midfielder was going to move to Brazil. However, after some financial uncertainty, according to recent reports, the Spaniards and Dutch clubs are now interested.

Former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer appeared to offer the midfielder an odd lifeline when discussing the midfielder's temporary transition to Brazil's top flight last year.

"Of course we follow Andreas," Solskjaer said to TNT.

"He's a terrific person and a fantastic footballer." It makes me pleased to hear that he's having a good time over there. Because it was the point for us... 'Andreas, show us what you're made of.'"

The firing of the Norwegian tactician at the end of 2021, on the other hand, has pretty much secured the midfielder's long-term fate.

The 26-year-old was sent out on loan to Flamengo last summer, with the expectation that his loan would become permanent at the end of the current season.

It doesn't appear that way anymore, since political parties in Spain and the Netherlands are both taking advantage of the current state of flux.

His contract at Old Trafford expires after one year; he is valued at somewhat more than £7 million (Transfermarkt)
